Job Summary of Automotive Inventory Clerk:
This position entails overseeing zone upkeep, managing the shipping and receiving of vehicles, conducting inventory scans, transporting vehicles on and off the lot, merchandising and washing the lot, photographing vehicles for carmax.com, and ensuring high-quality customer service is provided, all with administrative oversight.
Responsibilities of Automotive Inventory Clerk:
- Carry out tasks according to the procedures outlined in work instructions or standardized protocols
- Engage in collaborative problem-solving and ongoing enhancement initiatives as part of a group
- Deliver exceptional customer support to individuals both inside and outside the organization
- Maintain the appearance and security of the exhibit spaces and work-in-progress areas on a daily basis
- Ensure the safe arrival and reception of vehicles sent to CarMax
- Prepare the necessary documentation and vehicle paperwork for shipment to various destinations
- Thoroughly scan vehicles to guarantee the precise verification of product conditions
- Full cleaning and vacuuming services available for customer returns and loaner cars
- Complete front-lot wash
- Execute the Photo Station procedure
- Operate automobiles to and from the premises for maintenance or storage purposes
- Offer assistance with Auctions as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining workplace hygiene and orderliness following CarMax's 5S guidelines
- Carry out tasks delegated by senior Flow Inventory Associates IVs and Managers
Qualifications of Automotive Inventory Clerk:
- Meet CarMax DSEPS standards by holding an up-to-date driver's license
- Capability to understand, explain, and write down data for the purpose of upholding precise records
- Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent professional background are preferred
- Proficiency in performing operations as outlined in job directives and/or standardized protocols
- Comprehensive documentation of Inventory Associate Workstation Certifications & Assigned Workday Learnings
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds with proper safety measures
Working Conditions of Automotive Inventory Clerk:
- Indoor and outdoor settings may involve working during periods of loud or harsh weather conditions.
- Customizable work schedules, potentially involving evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Involves being on one's feet or moving around for long durations within a dynamic and rapid work setting.
- Always wears CarMax-branded attire obtained from the company while on duty at the store.
- Adhere to all regulations mandated by CarMax, O.S.H.A., and EPA, which involve compliance with Personal Protective Equipment protocols and the appropriate disposal of waste in designated locations.
- Comply with all CarMax regulations, such as Attendance, Asset Protection, Integrity, TAWR, and Professional Appearance Standards.
